Setting up VPN Client Session to join online games:

Just so you all know, this is intended for people with WindowsXP machines.  It can be set up on other versions of windows with these settings, but you have to go about the setup process differently.

1) First of all, you must have the VPN capabilities already installed.  If not, you can goto the windows update site, or goto Control Panel > Add/Remove Windows Components, and it should be listed in there.

2) Now, goto Start > Settings > Network Connections > New Connection Wizard

3) Click next.

4) Choose Connect to the Network at my Workplace, click on Next.

5) Choose Virtual Private Network Connection, click Next.

6) Choose a name for the connection, (I chose OMF , go figure) click next.

7) Select whether or not you are required to dial-up to the internet first, click next.

8) Enter the host name or IP address for the connection to login to, click next (probably best if you just contact the person in advance and get the IP)

9) Click finish.

10) Now click, Start > Settings > Network Connections

11) Right click on the connection you just made, and right-click and choose properties.

12) Under the Networking tab, uncheck tcp/ip, and make sure the type of VPN is set to PPTP VPN.

13) Click Ok, and double-click on the connection icon.

14) Enter you name and password for the server, and connect.

15) Now just fire up OMF (with or without sound from the VDMsound shortcut) and play a network game like you normally would.
